Overview

See Getting Started for a quick overview of the Jules Verne Voyager map tool capabilities.

For items specific to voyaging Neptune, continue to read this Neptune Features Help page.

To learn how to use the grd, gmt, geo, lbl, vel, mon, msc, and/or opt codes to customize a starting view, see Advanced Help: URL customizing.

Voyager Neptune features     The default Neptune uses a texture underlay grid grd=1 showing a composite of cloud deck features imaged by Aug 1989 Voyager 2 flyby, and a bit of artwork, by Björn Jónsson.

The texture underlay grids available in the [Features:] menu of Voyager: Neptune are:

[Voyager (Jónsson)]  http://jules.unavco.org/Neptune grd = 1   Björn Jónsson's texture map, based on color imagery of Voyager 2 flyby in August 1989 (some fictional fill-in)
[fiction (Davis)]  http://jules.unavco.org/Neptune?grd=2 grd = 2   Don Davis's texture map, based on color imagery of Voyager 2 flyby in August 1989 and simulation of cloud patterns similar to Jupiter's

The standard image overlays available in the [Features:] menu for optional longitude and latitude marking or distance scale bars are explained Advanced Help: generic options.

Note: Any grd, gmt, geo, lbl, vel, mon, msc, or opt code might change in the future, so be sure to check here for the current values!
