Overview

See Getting Started for a quick overview of the Jules Verne Voyager map tool capabilities.

For items specific to voyaging EarthScope, continue to read this EarthScope Features Help page.

To learn how to use the grd, gmt, geo, lbl, vel, mon, msc, and/or opt codes to customize a starting view, see Advanced Help: URL customizing.

Voyager EarthScope features     The default EarthScope uses a texture underlay grid grd=1 showing

  • above sea level: ARC Science Simulations' Face of the Earth ™ (based on NOAA-11 image data from 1992; natural surface colors of the Earth, pole-to-pole, cloud-cover eliminated, snow-cover minimized) mixed with shaded relief (derived from GTOPO30 DEM, Sandwell and Smith bathymetry v6.2, and various polar bathymetry DEMs circa 1998)

  • below sea level: color-coded and shaded relief bathymetry/topography (derived from DEM sources listed above)

The texture underlay grids available under [Features:] of Voyager: EarthScope are:
